Imagine the possibilities if you didn’t have to
waste so much time cutting through the noise
The Problem
In youth sports today, athletes and their families struggle with:
-
Filtered feedback coming from coaches who can’t be fully honest without risking their program, job, or relationships.
-
A lack of a clear development roadmap, leaving players working hard but unsure where to direct their effort.
-
Overhyped “exposure” culture, where social media and rankings create false confidence, pressure, and confusion.
-
One-size-fits-all training and team structures that push athletes into generic pathways rather than what they truly need.
-
A short-term mindset that prioritizes playing as many games as possible instead of focusing on long-term growth.
The Vision
Imagine a world where athletes and their families thrive with:
-
Honest, expert-level coaching feedback that empowers athletes to take meaningful steps forward.
-
A clear, personalized growth plan so athletes can focus on what matters most instead of spinning their wheels.
-
Real, measurable development rooted in objective progress—not guesswork.
-
A customized training experience built around each athlete’s unique goals and needs.
-
A purposeful development culture that prioritizes growth,
consistency, and preparation over logging countless games a season.

I’m a former Division 1 scholarship athlete and was a three-sport varsity athlete in high school. But despite those accomplishments, I spent much of my athletic career trying to decode what coaches and scouts were really looking for. I was constantly chasing validation—trying to figure out how to get noticed, how to get to the next level. No matter how hard I worked, I always felt like something was missing: an authentic understanding of where I stood and what coaches actually valued.
Looking back, I realize that mindset held me back more than I ever knew. After transitioning into coaching, I saw that countless athletes and families were facing the same struggles I once did. I’ve made it my mission to help them avoid those pitfalls. Too many families are caught in the rat race without a clear direction—hoping the next move will finally open the right door. Many of these kids don’t lack work ethic; they lack clarity. They have more control over their outcomes than they realize—they just need guidance.
That’s why I created Authentic Athlete Assessments: to provide young athletes with clear, honest feedback that helps them understand where they stand and what they need to do to reach their dreams. I want to ensure athletes no longer waste time trying to figure out what coaches want or why they’re not getting noticed. Instead, I aim to provide them with a clear roadmap to their success—one that allows them to focus on execution and reaching their goals.
"This is an unvarnished assessment from a qualified professional with no vested interest in providing nothing but the truth as to strengths, weaknesses and areas that can be addressed and how. It is much easier to accept these constructive criticisms and have areas to focus on than hear everything is great from an interested party. It allowed my son to hear things he needed to address from someone whose opinion he respects rather than just his parents or peers. For us as parents it gave us areas to help him focus on to make real tangible progress in the near and intermediate term with longer term goals in mind."

"This service was truly eye opening for our son. The constructive feedback was exactly what he needed to give him the spark to reset and refocus on the areas where he needed to improve. The guidance and support he received were exactly what he needed to take his game to the next level. It has been a game changer for him, both on and off the field. We highly reccomend this for anyone looking for honest, personalized feedback that will make a real difference in their child's game."
Parent of 10th Grade Athlete
"Having this assessment was invaluable. This has given him a clear, realistic view of where he stands and steps to get to where he wants to go. I like that the feedback was personal to our son and not cookie cutter feedback. It was honest and realistic. We came away with an actionable plan."
Parent of 11th Grade Athlete
"It is a really good offering that helps to give real action items to focus on and address from a qualified professional. It was important to me to get an independent assessment as my son progresses to have a sense as to what track he should be on in terms of commitment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others."

FAQ's
We take our role in selecting evaluators very seriously. Our evaluators are comprised of individuals who have experience playing NCAA DI, and/or professionally. Additionally, our evaluators receive ongoing feedback on their work and are regularly reviewed to ensure they meet the high standards set by our leadership team.
We have developed a comprehensive assessment sheet. Athletes will be assessed to the best of an evaluator's ability based upon the information provided. Please understand that we try assess every criteria on the grade sheet but certain things are only possible in particular environments. For example, in some instances, we cannot get close enough to the bench to hear how a player accepts feedback. We have included it in our assessment because we feel it is important and if there are any telling signs – good or bad – they will be commented on. If we don’t see enough to comment, we will indicate that with N/A.
Every athlete has a different reason for getting an authentic athlete assessment. With that said, the driving force behind getting an assessment is that you want to know truly where you stand and what areas of your game should be prioritized as you look to develop them.
Assessments are valuable for every type of athlete. There’s no single profile that “needs” our services more than another. Top players are always looking for ways to keep improving, and athletes still developing may simply need clear direction on where to focus their efforts.
Timing matters, too. Sometimes a player isn’t ready for a certain level yet—and that’s completely fine. It doesn’t mean they won’t get there. But it’s better to have a clear picture now than to commit time, money, and energy only to find out this truth later.
With all of that in mind, we do not assess athletes under the age of 11, and we strongly recommend waiting until a player is at least 12 years old before completing an evaluation.
We advise spacing out the assessments by at least 6 months to allow time for potential progress.
Elite Prospects and Perfect Game exist to provide athletes with exposure. Authentic Athlete Assessments exists to provide athletes with clear comprehensive feedback of their game so they can better navigate their development journey. While Elite Prospects & Perfect Game provide brief written summaries, many of the families find our assessments to be more comprehensive and direct.
